CYpriot secToRial secUrity operationS cenTres
The CY-TRUST project (“CYpriot secToRial secUrity operationS cenTres”) aims to enhance the Republic of Cyprus’s capability to safeguard its infrastructures and citizens against cyber threats. This initiative will be executed through the creation of Sectorial Security Operations Centres (Sectorial SOCs), which will encompass four sectors, namely Energy, Maritime, Governmental, and SMEs. These Sectorial SOCs will be interconnected with the National Competent Authority responsible for cybersecurity, the Digital Security Authority (DSA) of Cyprus. Using this new Cyber Security Operations Centres (CSOCs) Blueprint, the project promotes cooperation for shared awareness, coordinated incident handling, and joint preparedness. Adopting European and international standards, CY-TRUST ensures interoperability and coordination at national and European levels. In this context, CY-TRUST has set the following objectives:
- Assessment of maturity, capacity & intricacies of OES (Operators of Essential Services) sectors in Cyprus, to facilitate the design of Sectorial CSOCs tailored to the needs of each sector
- Definition & development of Sectorial CSOC variants to be deployed across Cyprus, tailored to different sectorial profiles, integrating three key capacity pillars: AI enhanced shared situational awareness, coordinated response & joint preparedness
- Development & deployment of Sectorial CSOC instances, interfacing with the National SOC of DSA, thus delivering an integrated CY-TRUST deployment
- Testing, demonstration & validation of CY-TRUST, by all relevant stakeholders, including the National Authority & the involved OESs
- Ensure the visibility, exploitation & long-term impact and sustainability of the project results, towards implementing its national cybersecurity strategy, its compliance with NIS & NIS2, and supporting the overall European vision for cross-border collaboration & coordination to respond to cybersecurity threats
