EU-INSPIRE
INnovative multi-diSciPlinary Industry-focused cybersecurity education for upskilling and ReskIlling the EU workforcE
The EU-INSPIRE project aims to revolutionize higher education in cybersecurity by developing a new generation of experts with advanced skills across cybersecurity, artificial intelligence (AI), and cyber insurance. Funded under the Digital Europe Programme (DIGITAL-2023-SKILLS-05), EU-INSPIRE establishes a pan-European cybersecurity education ecosystem, connecting universities, research institutions, and industry to bridge the EU’s cybersecurity skills gap.
The Open University of Cyprus (OUC) leads the development of the EU-INSPIRE Cybersecurity Campus, combining digital and physical learning infrastructures to support both on-site and remote education. Through this campus, OUC will implement “training the trainers” modules and interoperable virtual learning environments to enhance excellence in teaching and practical cybersecurity education.EU-INSPIRE has the following objectives:
- To design and deliver innovative Master’s programmes and certification pathways covering cybersecurity, AI, and cyber-insurance.
- To establish an interoperable European Cybersecurity Campus, integrating digital, physical, and remote learning infrastructures across partner institutions.
- To implement a “Train-the-Trainer” framework that ensures high-quality teaching and mentoring services in cybersecurity education.
- To develop and apply AI-driven tools and learning mechanisms for personalized, adaptive, and skills-based cybersecurity training.
- To build a sustainable EU-INSPIRE Foundation that ensures the long-term continuation and expansion of the project’s educational and research outputs.
- To strengthen industry-academia collaboration, supporting innovation, certification, and standardization aligned with EU cyber resilience policies.
- To foster gender equality, inclusion, and cross-sector collaboration in cybersecurity education and training.
EU-INSPIRE will deliver a new generation of cyber professionals who can address emerging challenges in the digital ecosystem while advancing the EU’s strategic goals for cyber resilience and digital transformation.
